The AKC Canine College seeks to provide increased opportunities for acquiring specific breed, procedural, and technical knowledge essential for successful judging across all venues.
The learning experiences and materials available to current and prospective Conformation Judges include mandatory components of the AKC’s Judging Approval Process as well as optional educational experiences one may complete. The breed specific courses may be completed to obtain CEU credits toward meeting the requirements per AKC policy to apply for that breed.
Breed courses are intended to enhance and expand the educational opportunities available to judges; as a compliment to, not replacement of, the invaluable in-person hands-on education. We will continue to add to the catalogue of available breed courses as they are completed with the cooperation for the parent club.
Another benefit of the Canine College is access to an e-portfolo. The e-portfolio is a resource tool that enables users to upload and store verification of their educational experiences in breeds, which can later be shared electronically with the AKC at time of application. Click here to watch a video on how to use the eportfolio.
