Afghan Hound Breed Exam
This exam is an "open book" test and consist of 25 questions. It is recommended that you refer to the Approved Breed Standard in completing this exam.
The successful completion of an AKC breed exam is a requirement for the following:
- To apply for Conformation Judging Approval
- To request group approval under the 80% policy for Breeds not currently approved to judge in that group
- For In-Ring Apprentice Training – must be completed by trainee prior to initial Apprentice Training in a breed
Successfully completing the exam for any of the above will be credited toward all, excluding if the approved breed standard was revised after the exam was completed. Failure to pass the exam after two attempt will result in a six month period before the exam may be attempted again.
